Watercolor Quilt
Students will learn Carolina's color process to
create their own Watercolor quilt. Color theory, the chromatic circle
and the three variables of color will be discussed followed by
discussion of guided fabric transition choices. Build color theory
confidence, and new improvisational design, cutting, and sewing
techniques as you create beautiful movement in your quilt.
Thursday April 27, 9 am to 3 pm
Beginning to Improvise
Students
will put together a complementary color palette ideal for this project,
learn different improvisational techniques, such as cutting without
rulers, creating building blocks, and composing a design as they learn
what it means to improvise. Students will use strip improvisation,
improv triangles, soft curves, and random pairs to create their own
quilt.
